Assisted Stretch
Assisted stretching with Julia is a customized, one-on-one therapeutic experience designed to improve mobility, alleviate chronic muscle tension, and restore natural movement patterns. Rather than relying on solo stretching, where it is easy to compensate or hold back due to tight muscles, this practitioner-guided session allows the body to safely achieve a deeper muscle lengthening and an increased range of motion while remaining completely relaxed. What the Session Entails Julia integrates manual therapies with active and passive structural bodywork. The approach focuses on a few core methodologies: Targeted Muscle Lengthening: Safely isolating deep muscle groups—such as tight hip flexors, the posterior chain (hamstrings and calves), and the chest or shoulders—that are frequently locked up from desk work or intense physical training. Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF): Utilizing brief, gentle contractions against targeted manual resistance, followed by a complete release. This safely overrides the nervous system’s natural stretch reflex to unlock new, comfortable flexibility. Decompression & Alignment: Gentle, continuous traction and passive floor or table work that creates space within stiff joints and unwinds restricted fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). Key Physical Benefits Alleviates Chronic Discomfort: Releases structural tension causing common aches like lower back stiffness, tight IT bands, and neck stress. Accelerates Recovery: Boosts blood flow and improves local circulation to clear metabolic waste from overused or fatigued muscles. Bridging Sedentary & Active Life: Prepares muscles for optimal movement efficiency, lowering the risk of strains or overuse injuries. What to Wear: To get the most out of your session, wear loose-fitting activewear or comfortable clothing that allows for a complete, unrestricted range of motion.
