Private Appointments: Yoga Therapy and Massage Therapy

Private Yoga Therapy Sessions

Private sessions are a great place to start for those who are new to yoga or have not practiced for a while. Private sessions are ideal for you if you are living with chronic illness, recovering from cancer, trauma, or injury.

Private Yoga Therapy:

During your Yoga Therapy appointment, we will address physical, mental, or emotional challenges impacting your health. Your personalized journey begins with a 90-minute intake session, where we discuss your concerns and goals. Together, we explore how therapeutic yoga can support your well-being.

Your appointment sessions will be based on your intake, and sessions personalized to meet your needs. Personalized sessions may include movement, restorative poses, breathing practice, meditation, relaxation techniques, and yoga philosophy.

Follow-up appointments, lasting 60 minutes, help you tackle challenges, improve functional movement, and regain independence. Embracing an active role in self-care is vital, whether you're recovering from injury, managing illness, combating anxiety or depression, coping with stress, or navigating life changes, yoga therapy can be a powerful tool on your journey toward well-being.

Massage Therapy:

I strive to make massage and bodywork accessible as an affordable tool to help with overall health, stress reduction, and pain relief. Massage goes far beyond merely pampering yourself. It can address a wide range of medical conditions, it has many physical and mental benefits as well.

Some specific medical conditions that massage can help include, anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, fibromyalgia, headache, insomnia, nerve pain, postoperative care, scar tissue, soft tissue strains and injuries, and sports injuries.

For most patients, massage therapy is an important part of specific medical treatment plans to help them return to daily activities. For example, massage therapy is helpful after joint replacement surgery or injury.

Physical benefits of massage include: Improved circulation, decreased muscle stiffness, decreased joint inflammation, better quality of sleep, quicker recovery between workouts, improved flexibility, less pain and soreness, and strengthened immune response.

Mental benefits: Massage also has many mental health benefits. Even people who are focused on the physical benefits say they feel less stressed after getting a massage. People report any number of mental benefits following a massage: lower stress levels, improved relaxation, improved mood, decreased anxiety, more energy, and increased feelings of wellness.

After a massage: It's common to feel relaxed, tired, or even sore after a massage. This is because your muscles are being worked. After a massage, it may feel like you completed a workout. It is possible to experience a headache or nausea after a massage.

Drink plenty of water to help your system flush out toxins released from stagnant tissues during the massage.
